In this particular photo of the l'Histoire Naturelle statue you will see that this sculpture is located between two columns on the facade of the Grande Galerie de l'Evolution and either side you can also see two additional sculptures known as mascarons.
In the above close up photo of the l'Histoire Naturelle statue, if you look to the bottom right corner of the image, you will see the etched letters Eug Guillaum, which is the name of the French artist and sculptor Eugene Guillaume, who produced this sculpture way back in 1882.
To visit the l'Histoire Naturelle sculpture you can discover this on the south west side of the botanical gardens known as the famous Jardin des Plantes, which is only a short walk from the River Seine and the Gare d'Austerlitz train station that also serves the Paris Metro line 5.
