And as you can see from this photo, this one is positioned in a prime location right by the most ornate bridge called the Pont Alexandre III and located on the left bank of the River Seine in the 7th Arrondissement, it also had views to the famous landmark of the Eiffel Tower.

Now enjoying a meal or drink on one of the converted barges on the River Seine has become a part of city life enjoyed by locals and tourists, and this particular barge was named the Bistrot Alexandre III after its position on the river right next to the bridge.

The idea for this particular restaurant and bar was to provide a chic, elegant and refined atmosphere utilising materials such as natural redwood and a zinc roof, while providing a la carte French cuisine and an extensive wine list to match, plus it is also accessible to the disabled, which is not the case with many floating restaurants.

But as well as the barge itself, where you can even see the chefs hard at work preparing meals in the open kitchen, as you can see here, the Bistrot Alexandre III also has a terrace on the bank of the River Seine, which is perfect for outside dining during the warmer months.

Obviously the Bistrot Alexandre III was not open for business when we were taking these photos, as it was not entirely finished, although, you can see that the barge had already been named and was virtually ready to receive its first patrons, and is now open for lunch and dinner.

So as well as a basic a la carte menu selection comprising approximately six different choices for each course that changes with the seasonal produce available, and desserts being pastries of the day, you could instead opt for different buckwheat crepes, along with a variety of different crepes and waffles.
